Creative Writing in December - Workshop
Enrolling now! for Wednesday, December 7 (7pm Eastern) Thursday, December 8 (7pm) & Sunday, December 11 (2pm)
Three (3) 1 & 1/2 hour sessions on Wednesday & Thursday evenings, & Sunday afternoon.
It's time to discover the beauty of the external landscape of winter. It's also important to explore your own internal landscape during this time of year.
In this creative writing workshop we'll be focusing on the topic of winter and all its abundant gifts of the season, including imagery, tone, time, temperature, scenery, sounds, feelings, moods, and more.
If it's hard for you to focus on your writing in general or you are at a loss for what to write about, winter is a perfect season to go inward, to focus and explore yourself and your craft.
Perhaps you are a beginner who needs encouragement to write, or a seasoned writer who wants to look at your subject and your creativity with more depth. This workhop will help you to discover and define what may be missing in your writing and give you new ideas and inspiration that can be discovered in everyday things.
Any level of writing is fine in this fun, safe environment.
In this workshop we’ll explore your creative "winter" voice. You'll work with suggested writing prompts and make seasonal imagery interesting, not predictable. Get ready to listen for the rhythm of the season and to focus on your language usage.
This is a wonderful workshop to move your work, yourself, and your creativity forward.
Short writing prompts are designed to surprise and inspire your imagination. Our discussions will enrich your writing and if you'd like to share your work, you're encouraged to do so but it's not required.
I also encourage you to read your favorite established writers before our workshop begins, especially scenes, stories, and poetry with winter thematics.
When you’ve finished the workshop, you’ll leave with a renewed sense of accomplishment and pride in taking the first or next step toward writing more authentically. This may also help you to get published if that's your goal.
This class is appropriate for anyone, from total beginners to writers who want to confront and work through a writer's block.
