Join us for this Beginning Poetry Workshop and give your poetic voice the platform it deserves. Whether you've been writing for years but keeping it hidden or you're a complete beginner, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to explore your creativity in a fun and supportive environment.

You'll have the chance to connect with fellow poets and uncover the poet within, no matter what stage of life you're in. Don't let your poetic aspirations stay hidden in the pages of a journal - sign up for our workshop and let your words come to life. You'll discover how poems are generated, crafted, edited, and refined.

Bring ideas or just a favorite journal and pen. We'll use lots of tools as a jumping-off point to your writing.

Short writing prompts are designed to surprise and inspire your imagination. Our discussions will enrich your poems and if you'd like to share your new poems, you're encouraged to but it's not required.

I also encourage you to read established poets before our workshop begins to get an idea of your favorite styles and tastes.

When you’ve finished the workshop, you’ll leave with a renewed sense of accomplishment and pride in taking the first or next step toward writing more poetry and who knows-even getting published.

This class is appropriate for anyone, from total beginners to writers who want to confront and work through a writer's block.

WORKSHOP TAKEAWAYS

-New poems

-New friends who are on the same journey.

-A feeling of creative playfulness and possibility.

-Creative courage.

-A new way to express yourself

Poetry communicates and conveys collective thoughts. It has the ability to preserve our minds and uses language as a powerful connector, especially in times of confusion, change, even crisis.

It often provides sustenance to help us carry on in times when we may feel helpless, hopeless, curious, or confused. The imaginative language of poetry is inherently yours. You are encouraged to read it, write it, embrace it, and ultimately, to share it with others.
